Tyler Clayton

I obtained an Upper Second-Class Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Leeds in 2019 and was the Master of the Moots for the University Law Society for the 2018-2019 academic year.  My electives when reading Law were Employment Law, Company Law, Health Care Law, Evidence and Crime, Law and Social Change.

I am also currently studying the Legal Practice Course part-time at BPP University and am set to graduate in February 2022. As it sounds, this qualification involves learning the practice of law (such as procedures and regulations) and is a necessary qualification to practice law as a Solicitor.

I have completed mini pupillages at 6KBW College Hill, 2 Bedford Row, and New Park Court and have had the honour of participating in the Phillip C Jessup International Mooting Competition as well as participating in the BPP Advocate of the Year Competition, Leicester Medical Law Mooting Competition, Leicester Canadian Law Mooting Competition and the Herbert Smith Freehills Mooting Competition.  I have also acted as a judge in the University of Leeds Regional Mooting Competition.

I have a particular interest in both Company Law and Employment Law, having focused my dissertation on the effect that Employment Law has on those most vulnerable in society.  At Legal Studio, I work in the Commercial Litigation Department and primarily deal with breach of contract matters.  The support available at Legal Studio is second to none, and it is the first place that I have worked where I genuinely have fun at my place of work.

In my spare time, I am an avid Norwich City FC supporter and even played for them in my youth.  Until recently, I was also a Level 4 (semi-professional) football referee and have had the privilege of refereeing a televised match in the FA Cup, as well as refereeing the FA Vase and FA Youth Cup.
