Hannah Beko

COMMERCIAL PROPERTY SPECIALIST

At the age of 13 I decided to become a lawyer.  I wanted a desk, a briefcase, and a computer!

I studied at Manchester University where I found my interest in property law. I am also a keen property investor buying my first investment property as soon as I started my training contract. I frequently bore my children by showing them buildings I have bought, sold or leased in the past.

Training at Beachcroft Wansboroughs (now DAC Beachcroft) between 2003 and 2005, I spent a year in insurance litigation before moving to Eversheds in Manchester to begin my life as a property lawyer.

In 2011 after starting my family, I left traditional practice to become a self-employed consultant solicitor. Over the years I have worked for a large variety of clients including private investors and developers, retail, leisure and industrial chains, financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and run a PFI project for a local authority.

My experience includes portfolio management for large retail and leisure chains, leading sale and leaseback and large scale lease renewal programs for major high street banks, acquisition and disposal of property assets on sale of businesses where clients have included pharmacies, opticians, licensed premises, retail and industrial, asset management and disposal of both commercial and residential property interests on behalf of financial institutions and insolvency practitioners and have an extensive experience of lease options (both residential and commercial) for private investors and developers.

Alongside my legal work, I am passionate about the personal and professional development of lawyers. Since 2016 I have trained thousands of lawyers and released my book “The Authentic Lawyer” in May 2022.

In June 2022, I joined Matt and Ian as a Director of Legal Studio. My role as Head of Mission allows me to support our consultants with training and development, as well as providing me with an agile, supportive and collaborative home for my property clients.

Outside of my legal work, I am a keen learner and love nothing more than a good personal development course or programme, especially if it involves meditation! I have three boys aged 12, 9 and 5 years old and spend a lot of time at the side of a football pitch with our young puppy.

I look after our Manchester office at Legal Studio and am always happy to welcome any guests for coffee.
