Commercial Property Solicitor and Property Tax Specialist
With 30 years of legal experience – including over two decades specialising in commercial property – I offer clients straight-talking, high-quality, business advice grounded in rigorous legal analysis and strong commercial awareness. I qualified as a solicitor in 1995 at a niche firm in London before moving to the heart of the City to join Maples Teesdale, the UK’s leading specialist commercial property law firm.
I’ve always loved the collaborative nature of commercial property work, where a successful outcome depends on aligning goals across the table so that everyone wins.
Whether advising institutional investors with low-risk portfolios, fast-moving developers working under pressure, or owner-occupiers, I tailor my advice to each client's objectives and aim demystify legal complexities.
My expertise spans all asset classes – including retail parks, shopping centres, high streets, industrial estates and offices. I’ve acted on joint ventures, development agreements and option agreements, as well as more routine landlord and tenant matters such as leases, renewals, and licences. I also specialize in property tax, and advise on structuring transactions to minimize SDLT and VAT.
In 2025, I became part of the Legal Studio team, drawn by their refreshingly different take on doing things: when lawyers are happy and fulfilled, clients get our best work.
Beyond law, I’m a trained barista, having set up a community café back in 2014. A year later I co-founded a charity, for which I continue to act as trustee and in-house counsel, providing advice on governance, safeguarding and regulatory compliance. I’m also a runner, yoga enthusiast, DIY-er, cat+dog person, keen gardener, and passionate home cook. Above all, I’m a proud parent to three adult children.
