New Role: Paralegal

We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our internal team.

It’s a varied role supporting our Consultants and helping with the compliance, administration and practical detail that keeps matters progressing.

We need someone organised, proactive and good with detail, but also curious. Someone who wants to understand how Legal Studio works, where our Consultants need support and how things might be done better.

Paralegal Role Overview:
  • Complete required compliance checks (electronic and manual), including AML, KYC and source of funds verification.
  • Follow up outstanding information from clients and third parties where required.
  • Check client records in LEAP contain all required information and accurately transfer data to legal documents and system records.
  • Ensure documentation and LEAP updates are completed accurately and efficiently to support Consultants.
  • Maintain reminder and alert systems, monitoring outstanding actions to ensure compliance requirements are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with file opening, file management and ongoing matter administration.
  • Support post-completion work for residential and commercial property transactions, including Land Registry applications, SDLT submissions and dealing with requisitions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to property transactions.
  • Assist with private client matters, including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate administration.
  • Prepare routine correspondence and legal documentation under supervision.
  • Liaise with clients, Consultants, professional contacts and third parties to progress matters. 
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with our Internal Team, Compliance Team and Consultants.
  • Assist with identifying potential process improvements and supporting changes to improve efficiencies and ways of working.
  • Maintain a professional curiosity regarding the areas of work and support that can be provided to Consultants within the Legal Studio business model. 

This job description is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to carry out other (or alternative) duties when requested by your Line Manager or a Director.

Working Arrangement:
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Flexible work from home arrangements available; however, a minimum of two days per week in our Leeds head office is required (Tuesday and Thursday) and ideally three days per week routinely.
  • Further attendance at the office may be required for meetings, training and other business needs from time to time.
Salary:

£26,000 per annum.

Experience / Skills Required:
  • Previous experience working within a legal practice.
  • Some experience in a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Conveyancing Assistant or similar role preferred.
  • Experience of conveyancing, post-completion work, private client matters and/or legal compliance processes would be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to maintain and update records accurately.
  • Proactive in monitoring reminders, tracking outstanding matters and following up actions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience using LEAP desirable but not essential.
  • A positive, collaborative and client-focused approach.
