I am an employment solicitor specialising in disability discrimination and neurodiversity in the workplace. My interest in neurodiversity developed after receiving my own diagnosis of autism in 2019.

I advise both individuals and employers, helping clients navigate situations where something at work is no longer quite working as it should.

How I help

Most people come to me at a point where something has started to shift.

It might be after a diagnosis. It might be after asking for support or adjustments and not getting the response they expected. Or it may be when a working relationship has begun to break down and they are not sure what happens next.

My role is to step in, understand what is happening, and help clients work out a way forward. Sometimes it means resolving the situation. Sometimes it means preparing for a more formal route. Often it is about bringing clarity to what can feel like a confusing or frustrating situation.

Where I add value

A lot of my work sits around the point where workplace issues and individual circumstances meet.

In particular, I regularly support clients dealing with the practical realities of neurodiversity at work, including how adjustments are requested, understood and implemented.

I also work on situations where communication has started to break down, expectations are no longer aligned, or decisions are being made without a proper understanding of the underlying issues.

Alongside this, I advise employers who want to understand their responsibilities and handle situations properly before they escalate.

Experience

I qualified as a solicitor in 2012 and have specialised in employment law throughout my career.

Before moving into law, I worked in IT and information management. I have since worked at firms with a national reputation in employment lawy, including Thompsons, Slater & Gordon and Myerson.

Representative work

My work has included:

  • Supporting individuals following a diagnosis where workplace support has not been handled well
  • Advising on situations where performance or conduct concerns are closely linked to underlying issues
  • Helping clients navigate difficult conversations and decisions around remaining in or leaving a role
  • Advising on more formal disputes where matters have escalated
  • Negotiating an exit and the terms of a settlement agreement
  • Managing litigation and representing clients at the Employment Tribunal

What clients say

My approach

I take a structured and considered approach.

Clients often come to me when situations feel uncertain or difficult. My role is to bring clarity, stay level-headed, be objective and focus on what needs to happen next.

I prefer straightforward communication and a practical approach to resolving issues, which makes the process feel more manageable for many clients.
