PARALEGAL

I obtained an LLB Law degree from Newcastle University and graduated in July 2019 with a 2:1 Honours. I have recently received an offer from the University of Law in Leeds to study the Legal Practice Course part-time from September 2021 alongside my paralegal role. This course also includes a Masters in Law.

I first became interested in law during my work experience in Year 10 at the Crown and Magistrates’ Courts in Liverpool, which gave me the chance to shadow barristers in both civil and criminal hearings. I have always been fascinated with how the legal system works behind the scenes. The idea of problem-solving, whilst applying my knowledge of the law, in order to achieve an outcome that clients are happy with is highly rewarding.

Prior to joining Legal Studio, I worked as a paralegal in a niche family law firm in London for almost two years. During my time there, I assisted solicitors with their cases as well as completing a range of other tasks including finding counsel for hearings, attending hearings, and archiving files. I worked on a variety of cases including wills and probate, private children proceedings, and divorce and finances.

Earlier this year, I volunteered as a befriender at Age UK in my spare time. For this role, I was matched with an elderly individual who had been feeling particularly isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic. I supported them through a mixture of telephone calls and garden visits. Just having someone to talk to regularly helped them immensely and it was really lovely to see the impact I had had on them.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to the theatre, travelling, running, and visiting my hometown of Liverpool.
